By golly, that works. :) Thank you very much (I use a lot of apps that this will help with). One question - how do I set that systemwide? I did "# grep -r xterm-256color /etc/" and got nothing but: Binary file /etc/terminfo/x/xterm-256color matches There must be some way to make xterm-color the default.

F2 to save changes) no longer work. That is, of course, completely unusable.
