I keep forgetting where my newly emerged packages are installed and running "locate -u" takes forever. I wish emerge whould update the locate database with just the relveant information. I understand it's not your number one priority. I just thought I should add it to the bottom of the list in case you ever run out of things to do. YOu can't just updated the relevant info into locate. It's front encodd and would take too much effort. qpkg and etcat can tell you about packages.
