this still doesn't quite work with php5 .. almost .. but with a few kinks ..

as seen below it seems to manage to build fine, but it doesn't put the config in the right place. This could be a bug in php-ext-base.eclass, so both bugs should be looked at.

this is a bug in php-ext.eclass. Look at bug #64696 . Think it's solved now.
