It looks like it could be this bug: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=255604 I'm getting it too. Out of curiosity, what version of GTK2 are you using?
Hmm... actually, after reading your report again, it looks like that might not be it. I don't see the window for a fraction of a second, it just crashes whenever it tries to open a dialog.
I'm very pleased of announcing that the problem is solved since it does not crash any longer. Unfortunately I'm not able to trace this back to a specific reason. An gtk+ update to 2.4.9-r1 cannot be the reason since it worked before the update was performed. Maybe you have an idea?
Sry for the wrong alarm, but I have this problem again. I will try to figure out the reason (I have an idea) ...
I'm sorry, but I was not able to figure out why it worked. The idea I had was that I played a bit with the option "Find As You Type" and then it worked. But a retry resulted in no connection of this both things ...
Same crashes with 1.0_pre-r1
Seems to be fixed with 1.0_pre-r2 i.e. I haven't had a crash within the last days anymore
cool, there were some changes in mozilla-launcher to remove bogus files when firefox is updated. I suspect that did the trick for you. Sorry for the lack of replies on this bug. I appreciate you keeping us informed of your progress though.
