trying to play movie in fullscreen mode on a gnome desktop, the upper and lower
pannel still remain. in previous versions xine displayed the movie on top of all
windows / panels. will attach screenshot

top and bottom panel are still there. the green picture is not a bug but gnomes
screenshot feature seems to be not able to capture a movie.

this seems not to be an xine issue but a metacity problem

yup . i have seen this happen with totem (uses xine-lib) and mplayer (Xv).
mplayer with SDL output has no problems, but that one uses lowerlevel X calls
afaik. So i'd say a metacity problem too.

fullscreen mode works with sawfish 2.0. I also browsed through the xine
mailinglist - it really appears to be a metacity problem. should we close this bug?
