neovim-python-client is currently at version 0.2.0 upstream (0.1.13 in portage)
neovim-ruby-client is currently at version 0.6.1 upstream (0.5.1 in portage)

I managed to emerge both successfully using the currently available ebuilds in my local repo with the updated version numbers.

Updating neovim-python-client is especially important as some neovim plugins that rely on python functionality no longer work properly on version 0.1.13 (e.g. deoplete)

Since this is still open, I had to add a src_prepare to get version 0.2.1:
