The kxstitch projects aim is to create software to allow the creation and editing of cross stitch patterns. I'm not related to the creator of the software (my wife is now addicted to cross-stitching, so I've just found this new toy for her ;-) ) I've used the "kfish" ebuild as a template, as this is my first submision I hope it's all right. I suggest x11-misc/kxstitch Attatched follows kxstitch-0.5.ebuild Francisco

Any ideas when this will be added to portage as it was first requested almost 10 months ago?
Colin, it takes someone who has the will/interest to maintain it. There are open requests for >3000 packages, some outdate this one by far. We're simply overworked, so maybe never. Become visible by helping fixing bugs and you may maintain it yourself in the end.
Created attachment 63013 [details] new 0.7 ebuild as allways, I guess it is all right, at lease, it works for me. it is a so simple ebuild that i suppose it couldn't be wrong ;)
Waah! Attachment #63013 [details] is gibberish. Please attach a fixed plaintext ebuild and reopen.
Created attachment 68778 [details] 0.7 ebuild the original one was a tgz
the 0.7 atachment was a complete tgz, now the new one is only the ebuild pure text file

i tried to emerge kxstitch agian. and now it works. this is really strange. there ist no error message fpr calcolor.png anymore. the only thing i could image is, that two instaces of /usr/bin/install try to install the same file at the same time and one of them fails.
(this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug) Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely manner. There are simply too many new packages. Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =) Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us. We anticipate a large number of requests in a short time. Thanks, On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team, Jeremy. Here are two ebuilds for newer versions: * Version 0.8.3, which is the newest version that works with ImageMagick 6.3 series. * Version 0.8.3.1, which works with ImageMagick 6.4 and EAPI 2. Hope this is useful.

Thanks. This has sporadic activity upstream (with the developer not even announcing his releases, to make things even worse), so releases usually catch me by surprise. It seems he has removed all of the source packages except for 0.8.3.1, so I will try to get an ebuild for that one into the sunrise overlay by the end of the week (I still have to get it approved by someone who can catch my mistakes :) ).

I have found that using "su -" instead of "su" to compile solved those problems. I am not an expert, but maybe this helps?

If --prefix=/usr - compilation fails. If --prefix=/usr/kde/3.5/ compilation finish successfully.

Created attachment 263899 [details] kxstitch-9999.ebuild A porting to KDE4 started, development moved to git. Current status: it builds, allows to draw/erase and save/load. But many things are not implemented yet.
Is there still interest for this software?
Yes, at least from my part, thanks for asking.
Not too sure about the best category - media-gfx?

My wife is not using it at the moment, but maybe will be again in the future. I've tested and it compiles without issues. I think, media-gfx is correct, as it is in Extragear » Graphics on KDE. And one more note. There is also SymbolEditor [1], which was separated from kxstitch. [1] https://userbase.kde.org/SymbolEditor Regards, Marián
