needed for gparted with preferably the patch added mentioned on its homepage, http://gparted.sourceforge.net/busy_check.diff .

There are newer version of parted (1.6.13 and 1.6.14) which both include the patch mentioned above. Use parted 1.6.14 instead, since it also fixes some weird bugs.

Here's an ebuild based on the *.10 ebuild that's in portage. I've commented out
the patch sections, since I assume from the above comments that the Gentoo
specific patches on older version no longer apply to the current upstream
release.

parted 1.6.15 is in portage p.masked, pending some testing since 25 Sept 2004
