stacktrace of josm

When starting josm it fails to connect to its servers with a java.io.IOException and suggests to change proxy settings (which obviosly doesn't help as I have a direct internet connection).

This also happens when running josm with a fresh configuration. The error looks like an issue with TLS elliptic curve cryptography, but I have no further ideas about it.

I'm using josm-10966 with icedtea-bin-3.3.0 and nss-3.30

In the attachments you find the terminal output of josm, including a stacktrace of the issue.

I have found the solution on the JOSM bug tracker:

I've solved the problem by emerging dev-java/icedtea:8 with USE="-sunec"
Comment 5 hariskar 2017-05-07 14:54:26 UTC
It works for me with dev-java/icedtea:8 with USE="sunec"
Comment 6 Joe Sapp (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2017-07-15 01:51:04 UTC
Does it work with >= icedtea-bin-3.3.0-r1?
Comment 7 Joe Sapp (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2017-07-15 01:52:09 UTC
Also, can you reproduce this issue with the latest unstable josm?
Comment 8 schmittlauch 2017-07-15 11:09:51 UTC
josm-10966 now works with icedtea-bin-3.4.0
