Description Toralf Förster gentoo-dev 2017-03-15 18:20:13 UTC
At the stable tinderbox image desktop-stable_20170305-180103 I run into this never ending loop :

==> run/desktop-stable_20170305-180103/tmp/task <==
@preserved-rebuild

==> run/desktop-stable_20170305-180103/tmp/task.log <==

Calculating dependencies  . ...... done!

you'll need to update your binutils & remove the old ones

Hhm, well, it is "§only" a stable tinderbox image, but nevertheless:

This is the current situation :

And now I do wonder, why 2 version of binutils are installed and why the -lib version does not match the former one.

> And now I do wonder, why 2 version of binutils are installed

because the QA team thinks that's better for users

> why the -lib version does not match the former one.

it doesn't matter. binutils itself doesn't use the system libs. those are for other packages like mysql that want to use -lbfd and such.

the revdep rebuild bindings are false positives.
