Description Agostino Sarubbo gentoo-dev 2016-12-06 16:14:33 UTC
From ${URL} :

Quick Emulator(Qemu) built with the USB redirector usb-guest support is
vulnerable to a memory leakage flaw. It could occur while destroying the USB
redirector in 'usbredir_handle_destroy'.

A guest user/process could use this issue to leak host memory, resulting in
DoS for a host.

Upstream patch:

@maintainer(s): after the bump, in case we need to stabilize the package, please let us know if it is ready for the stabilization or not.

(In reply to Thomas Deutschmann from comment #2)

give it like two weeks and we can move forward if there are no reported bugs
Comment 4 Thomas Deutschmann (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2017-01-21 10:57:45 UTC
More than two weeks later, no new bugs (only bugs regarding unneeded deps which are now resolved), so let's start stabilization.

@ Arches,

please test and mark stable: =app-emulation/qemu-2.8.0
