Description Raymond Jennings 2016-10-16 12:03:01 UTC
When I try to read an ebook, a section of text that the hardcopy version lists as italics or commas or quote marks etc quite often renders as a u with an accent.

My immediate suspicion is a unicode problem.

Could you please send an example of such ebook, or give an url where I can download it?

It's under copyright, so I can't provide a link. I could provide a copy privately if you promise to delete it when you're done.

I haven't seen such problems, therefore, I need an example file. It would be best if you open your ebook in your favourite text editor and delete 99.9% of it, keeping the correct overall structure (so that it remains a valid .fb2 file) and keeping some minimal examples of rendering defects you see. I suppose 0.1% of the book does not violate the copyright laws.

I'll take a look. I don't think I have it in .fb2, but actually an epub.
Comment 5 Raymond Jennings 2016-11-02 14:05:09 UTC
nice, epub is actually a pkzipped collection of HTML files.
