Description Martin 2016-07-27 01:42:08 UTC
syslog-ng supports Java-based modules which enables destinations like Elasticsearch, Apache Kafka, Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), HTTP and custom written ones (compare to custom Python modules). See folders listed in modules/java-modules [1] and destinations listed in the documentation [2].

I guess these features are lacking currently because gradle [3] is needed (see "Prerequisites" section in each Java-based destination, e.g. for Elasticsearch [4]) which is not available. Therefore this might depend on gradle. Maybe it is possible to install those modules without gradle until it gets available.

Until there is no workaround for gradle, bug 339574 blocks this issue partially (because custom Java modules might not need gradle).

Hey, I can see gradle-bin in portage. Isn't it enough to get this to work?
