Toralf, are you able to confirm if this issue is present if xz-utils is built with USE=threads?
Comment 5 Toralf Förster gentoo-dev 2016-07-26 07:36:56 UTC
(In reply to NP-Hardass from comment #4)
I rather tend to close this bug as invalid b/c this issue happens on a image which is suspected to be broken
Comment 6 Adam Feldman gentoo-dev 2016-07-26 08:31:27 UTC
Just confirmed it on my machine. xz-utils[-threads] causes their detection of threads to break. Looks like an upstream bug, but I'm investigating now.

funny side fact : this issue was detected at my tinderbox only at one image here now - and that's was an image where gcc upgrade was made unsuccessful (due to other package failure) - therefore I sorted this image out

;-)

Hehe, well, glad you spotted it, nonetheless.
Comment 9 Adam Feldman gentoo-dev 2016-07-26 17:57:32 UTC
Fixed in 3.2.1-r4 with backported upstream patch in e7190087b79b1685765ab683bf3ad23edb229950.

Thanks, as always, Toralf.
