The descriptions for the local (language) flags contain non-portable characters causing 
  equery u hunspell
to fail.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. equery u hunspell

Actual Results:  
$ equery u hunspell

This has been fixed and is released in the gentoolkit-3.2 release
