Description Francesco Lamonica 2016-06-28 17:56:24 UTC
Current stable version of hexchat (2.10.2) shows a tooltip with white text over a light gray background when hovering over a channel topic textbox (the one at the top of the window) making it completely unreadable

net-irc/hexchat: dropping proxied maintainer and proxy-maint
This packages hasn't seen any update at all, no reaction to bugs since 2014.
Further, it is not listed on the list of proxy maintained packages [1].
    Package-Manager: portage-2.3.0
Comment 2 Anthony Ryan 2016-10-06 22:42:42 UTC
I suspect this is related to an issue I've encountered with newer GTK versions coloring various interface elements with white text on a white background. I'll be investigating this further.
Comment 3 Anthony Ryan 2016-10-14 13:26:18 UTC
Could you please test if this behavior is still occurring in version 2.12.2 (~), there was a separate bug involving white text on a white background which was resolved in this release, and I suspect it may be related to this issue.
Comment 4 Francesco Lamonica 2016-10-14 14:08:57 UTC
Unfortunately it did not change: Same unreadable topic with (~) 2.12.2

Have you tried changing your color scheme in plasma a bit? I don't use plasma myself and I was unable to reproduce using XFCE.
Comment 6 Francesco Lamonica 2017-04-26 08:22:06 UTC
Sorry for such a late reply.
Yes i did create a new color scheme (from breeze default) and i changed every single color that was present in the color tab, but to no effect. That tooltip is still white text over light gray background, despite my desktop being transformed to psychedelic bunch of windows. Do you have any suggestion of what specific color should i change?

Still an issue with recent hexchat releases?
