I was trying to authenticate postfix against a SQL base with crypt'ed passwords The vanilla cyrus-sasl does not provide this kind of support, only plain passwd. Since the new version don't support pam_sql natively (that was used to do this before), I suggest the inclusion of the Branko F. Gracnar's patch that may be found at : http://frost.ath.cx/software/cyrus-sasl-patches/dist/2.1.17/cyrus-sasl-2.1.17-checkpw.c.patch I tried and it was a clean patch and compile with the latest ebuild (2.1.18-r2). In the attached ebuild I've added a +crypt flag to insert the patch, but this could also be set as a default patch. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. I'm using postfix-2.0.19, dev-libs/cyrus-sasl-2.1.18-r2.
Created attachment 36299 [details, diff] the patch for crypt support
Created attachment 36300 [details] ebuild with the patch/flag crypt based on cyrus-sasl-2.1.18-r2.ebuild, the latest stable.
I also made an ebuild with this patch for myself. It works perfectly! I suggest to call it cyrus-sasl-2.1.18-r3. Greetz
