v2.1.x doesn't compile for me because Makefile.in puts LDFLAGS **after** object files which results in errors like this: ``` /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/5.3.0/libstdc++.so: undefined reference to `pthread_once' ``` This was fixed upstream in https://github.com/fish-shell/fish-shell/commit/42813eeb841ea4a5dbb94e35fb481a163b486d77 and is included since v2.2.0, which compiles and runs fine.
