The Portage manual (version 0f 2004-07-19) quotes the world file as resifding in /var/lib/portage, whereas it should be /var/cache/edb/.

OK but it would be nicer if software and documentation run along...

BTW, I'm running the ~x86 unstable/testing branch, which still uses the old path. Unstable and stable will be updated at the same time?

there is no unstable version atm, just stable (portage-2.0.50-r9) and the version that will be the next stable one (portage-2.0.51_pre13)
