tried to build virtualbox-guest-additions-4.3.32 (stable) on a 4.4.2-hardened kernel (USE="-X") and it failed because of some problem with string.h in newer kernel versions. As far as i remember it complained about the strreplace argument "new" in the linux/string.h included by VirtualBox-4.3.32/include/iprt/string.h .... see the patch and the discussion i linked below. Sorry i am no c/c++ coder and cant explain probably what the error message meant. Unfortunately because i fixed the problem my self i have no build.log anymore - sorry. Created attachment 432880 [details] build.log Big middle part of this file was deleted manually due to 1000KB upload limit. I set some comment inside about this. Deleted lines was compile commands only with no errors and warnings. Head part left unchanged.
Same error on gentoo-source-4.4.6 (gcc-4.9.3) Attach build.log above.
Confirming the same bug in virtualbox-guest-additions-4.3.32, but with a gentoo-sources-4.5.2 kernel.
Should be fixed with virtualbox-4.3.38 stabilization.
