After upgrading librsvg to 2.40.13 various applications crash with errors similar to:

xfdesktop: /var/tmp/portage/x11-libs/cairo-1.14.2/work/cairo-1.14.2/src/cairo-surface.c:928: cairo_surface_reference: Assertion `((*&(&surface->ref_count)->ref_count) > 0)' failed.

This issue is known and fixed upstream so I'll keep the report short. Upstream report:
