Description David Racine 2016-02-05 14:09:44 UTC
When built with gstreamer USE flag, qtwebkit:4 will load gstreamer-0.10 in memory. But when amarok starts playing, it uses phonon-gstreamer expecting gstreamer-1.x, resulting in a crash. Maybe the root cause is that the gstreamer should be renamed gstreamer0 in qt-webkit:4? Or is there a way that both versions of gsgreamer could be loaded without crashing?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install amarok with specified versions of dependency
2. Start amarok and hit the play button
Actual Results:
Crash

Expected Results:
Play

Please see the kde bug report, https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=358804 as they redirected me here.
Also, in order to workaround the crash: one can add dev-qt/qt-webkit:4 -gstreamer in /etc/portage/package.use, or use another phonon backend.

Unfortunately there's been little traction on resolving this for quite some time.
