Some of the fonts available at http://www.microsoft.com/typography have all the encodings ( e.g. Arial, Times New Roman, Courier New ), including 8859-8 ( Hebrew ). I don't know if there's a legal issue ( License ), but from what I've seen the current package already installs Microsoft's fonts under EULA.
The ones we distribute seems to be most (if not all) of those. They do not have 8859-8 encoding ? If not, is there a place where you can get all in .zip and not as windows .exe ?
No, they don't include 8859-8 encoding. You can open the windows .exe with cabextract ( available in portage ).
Microsoft pulled their fonts from their site. Fonts are available in http://corefonts.sourceforge.net/
Some nice iso8859-8 fonts are available at: http://culmus.sourceforge.net/
Please checkout the new xfree-4.2.1 when it is released, as this should be fixed.
