[originally reported by Kalin KOZHUHAROV in bug 530764] A 1.2.3 and a 1.2.4 tag appeared on the two github repos [1] a month ago, but the releases have not been announced on the ML [2] and there are no tarballs at the usual download location [3]. All this makes me a little suspicious, so I think we should first check with upstream that these releases are indeed official. The way I understand it, pyside was Nokia's project and after Nokia got eloped, there's no real upstream for it. At best, there are reanimation attempt, bordering on necromancy. A bit unfortunate...
Maybe PySide will be resurrected: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/pyside-dev/pqwzngAGLWE http://lists.qt-project.org/pipermail/pyside/2016-April/002401.html
It seems that both PyPI [1] and the official qt.io wiki [2] list 1.2.4 as the latest version. So I believe the release can be considered legit. However I do not see the tarball of shiboken-1.2.4 at [3]. [1] https://pypi.python.org/pypi/PySide [2] https://wiki.qt.io/PySide [3] https://download.qt.io/official_releases/pyside/
shiboken:0 and pyside:0 have been removed from the tree.
