Looks like weka only ships a wrapper class for the actual libsvm package. SVM fails with the following error in weka: "java.lang.Exception: libsvm classes not in CLASSPATH!". Merging sci-libs/libsvm[java] and adding it to the classpath fixes the problem. See the URL for more details.
