Description Marquez LaMaistres 2004-07-07 22:48:17 UTC
When I try to start xmms-1.2.10-r5 with the graphical EQ and the playlist editor enabled, the EQ will not appear when I restart XMMS. When I disable the playlist editor and restart XMMS then the EQ will appear. There were no errors to report when running XMMS from Aterm.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Start XMMS
2.Enable main window, playlist editor, and graphical EQ
3.Close XMMS.
4.Start XMMS again.

Actual Results:
The main window and the playlist editor appears but the graphical EQ is missing.

Expected Results:
When the main window, graphical EQ, and playlist editor are enabled, they should
all three appear again when starting XMMS.

I'm running fluxbox-0.9.9.

Here is what flags were enabled when I emerged xmms;

I'm unable to reproduce, running enlightenment and the same version of xmms.
Comment 2 Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-07-08 01:29:56 UTC
Marquez: can youu try another window manager?
Comment 3 Marquez LaMaistres 2004-07-08 13:30:18 UTC
All three windows appear when I run XMMS in TWM or Enlightenment, but the EQ is missing when running XMMS in Fluxbox-0.9.9.
Comment 4 Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-07-08 16:30:51 UTC
Can you try an earlier version of xmms for me?
Comment 5 Marquez LaMaistres 2004-07-08 19:31:16 UTC
I emerged xmms-1.2.8-r4, xmms-1.2.9-r2, and xmms-1.2.10-r1. They all displayed the same missing EQ window as the latest ebuild. Also, If I uncheck and then recheck the Graphical EQ option then the EQ window will appear but is missing again when restarting XMMS.
Comment 6 Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-07-09 01:30:50 UTC
Can youu try a vanilla xmms version then (no gentoo patches). You can do that by editing the ebuild and changing src_unpack() to asrc_unpack() ... that is, just rename the function to something bogus so the gentoo patches don't get applied...
Comment 7 Marquez LaMaistres 2004-07-09 12:32:50 UTC
I unmerged xmms, then I changed that line to asrc_unpack in the recent ebuild. Same behavior, no EQ when restarting xmms.
I was going to try to see how xmms behaved with the stable branch of fluxbox but it's no longer in portage.
Comment 8 Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-07-09 15:48:39 UTC
ok, since this is happening with xmms vanilla, it's not gentoo specific. Can you please report it to the developers upstream ( and tell me what the bug number is so I can follow it.
Comment 9 Marquez LaMaistres 2004-07-10 13:23:19 UTC
I reported this to xmms bugzilla. The bug number is 1859
Comment 10 Jeremy Huddleston (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-09-05 15:28:16 UTC
following it upstream...
