networkmanager failed to connect to openvpn server when use pre-shared key method.
But use openvpn directly can successfully connect.

The error message 
nm-openvpn[5275]: Options error: Parameter renegotiate_seconds can only be specified in TLS-mode, i.e. where --tls-server or --tls-client is also specified.

This bug is already fixed by upstream.
I have verified the fix on my gentoo system.

should be ok with 1.0.6
