Comment 1 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2015-07-02 03:56:47 UTC
I'm seeing more trouble with _nss_db_getservent_r now in the test suite of dev-ruby/rubygems, where ruby19 keeps looping on that call and eats a CPU.
Comment 2 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2015-10-03 06:22:08 UTC
`tcpdump -n' avoids _nss_db_getservent_r and works the way it should.
Comment 3 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2015-10-03 06:45:22 UTC
# ls -l /var/db/services.db

Comment 4 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2015-10-03 06:49:25 UTC
/var/db # rm /var/db/services.db
/var/db # make /var/db/services.db
services... done.
/var/db # perl -e getservent

Comment 5 Andreas K. Hüttel archtester gentoo-dev 2017-08-28 22:00:45 UTC
Is this still reproducible with current ~arch or stable?

Of course it is.

This looks like https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=20237 (which is fixed in 2.25 though).

I'm assuming this is fixed (since 2.25 got stabilized). If not please reopen.
