note that in duplicate #552688 the elixir flag is also mentioned, I have not tested that, it might have the same bug. Essentially the gentoo tarball for the sources is broken, but for me it works if patched from the ebuild, which might be easier to do than to find a way to re-create the tarball.

It is fixed in 16.04. Flag mod_bash is actually removed, but jiffy is pulled by ejabberd unconditionally. Please reopen if issue persists.
