Used to be that you could specify init=/sbin/telinit\ S to make gentoo drop into single user mode.  Now, since init has to point to /linuxrc I cannot make it drop into single user, and I don't have any docs on how to do this, help please.

I'm marking this bug a duplicate of #55736 since that provides a patch for passing arguments to init, which would solve this issue...
