Avaible in portage I2C 2.8.4, Lm-Sensors 2.8.6 (masked) If someone is using even 2.6.x kernel series it is esensial to have newest user tools available for him. Authors recomend: Kernels 2.6.5-rc1 and later: lm_sensors 2.8.6 or CVS Kernels 2.6.3-rc2 to 2.6.4: lm_sensors 2.8.5 This means that at present 2.8.7 user tools are not essensial for newest kernel, they are however several issues resolved (diffs between 2.8.6 and 2.8.7) For sensors-detect script it would include: Rework Super I/O detection Support SiS655/SiS96x Support ADT7461 and ADT7467 Better support for ADM1027, ADT7460 and ADT7463 Explicitly support ADM1028 Scan all logical devices of PC87365 and PC87366 Detect LM92, LM76, MAX6633, MAX6634, MAX6635 Detect eeproms with software write protect (not enabled by default) Support ALi 1563 (2.6 only) Drop LTC1710 support Use byte reads for probing on ranges 0x30-0x37 and 0x50-0x5F Improve LM89 and LM99 support Support GeForce FX 5900 video cards Fix devfs misdetection (Aurelien Jarno) Detect 6300ESB, ICH6 Fix double detection of ISA chips Support MAX1619 Support PC87373 Super-I/O Fix unknown adapters appearing multiple times Refine MAX6650/MAX6651 detection 2.4.x kernel series users should welcome new ebuild as well as drivers for them are not included in kernel full chanchelog http://www2.lm-sensors.nu/~lm78/cvs/browse.cgi/lm_sensors2/CHANGES
I hope to see this version on x86 soon, cos it has some changes on my sensors, and the actual x86 is 2.8.1 wich is very old.
Where are lm-sensors > 2.8.1? I need them for linux-2.6, and $ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge -p lm-sensors doesn't show anything newer than 2.8.1. Thank you, Anno.
~x86 and i only see 2.8.1 for both...
Created attachment 34828 [details] lm-sensors-2.8.7.ebuild Well, did a version bump. That patch is not necessary anymore - commented in my ebuild. That is all. At least it works for me...
works here.
Why are the latter lm-sensors packages.mask? All the versions I am by the author recommended are there becouse I use the 2.6 kernel. Has it something to do with that 2.8.5 for instans does not have i2c as a dependencie while 2.8.1 (witch is the latest x86) has?
Both are now in CVS [ ~x86 ] - it should reach Portage within an hour. Thanks!
