Description Stefan Valouch 2015-03-09 04:31:18 UTC
It looks like ganeti-wconfd replaced gnaeti-masterd in 2.12, but the patch for daemon-util re-introduces masterd to the list of daemons-to-start, which cannot succeed as there is no /usr/sbin/ganeti-masterd anymore (at least the ebuild does not install it). Starting ganeti fails, because that daemon is no longer there.

Removing "ganeti-masterd" from the daemon-util script fixes the startup problem and ganeti runs flawlessly afterwards.

Additionally, there is a problem when upgrading, as mentioned in comment #2 on https://code.google.com/p/ganeti/issues/detail?id=1019#c2 one has to add the following to the config.data manually, which is not obvious:
"disk_state_static": {}, "hv_state_static": {},

Reproducible: Always

Should be fixed in app-emulation/ganeti-2.12-r3
