Description Tobias Leupold 2015-03-07 09:41:57 UTC
k9copy's development apparently stopped, and the last version relies on ffmpeg, which apparently can't be installed anymore on a "normal" stable system. Please replace it with it's successor, k9copy-reloaded: http://k9copy-reloaded.sourceforge.net/ which builds against libav.

@kensington We could just package the fork as k9copy. Imho no need for new package name.
Comment 2 Michael Palimaka (kensington) gentoo-dev 2015-03-15 15:11:05 UTC
I have no opinion either way wrt naming.
Comment 3 Andreas Grois 2016-04-10 22:16:13 UTC
I think it's worth mentioning that k9copy-reloaded supports qt5 / kde framework 5 in addition to KDE 4.

This wasn't an issue until recently, but now, with Plasma becoming stable, k9copy's dependencies on kde4 pacakges can cause troubles.
Comment 4 Michael Palimaka (kensington) gentoo-dev 2017-02-18 04:10:03 UTC
Unfortunately I think even this fork is dead now especially with ffmpeg-3 stable.
