Maybe I can apply this.
I made kodi work with raspberrypi, still crashing sometime, but I can use.
I have other patches to apply to it

last i looked, git-r3 doesn't fully support everything git-2 does, so it's not going anywhere.  so if you want to apply this, go ahead, i just don't see the point.
