Description Nikos Chantziaras 2015-02-28 10:29:21 UTC
(See also bug 541612.)

The 32-bit build (multilib) on AMD64 fails with the below error message during emerge. I've rebuild all installed dev-qt/*:4 packages to make sure there's nothing wrong with them, but it doesn't help:

/usr/bin/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-g++  -fPIC -pipe -mtune=native -march=native -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -floop-interchange -floop-strip-mine -floop-block  -DQT_NO_CAST_FROM_ASCII -DQT_NO_CAST_TO_ASCII  -Wl,-O1 -Wl,--as-needed -Wl,--hash-style=gnu -Wl,--sort-common -shared -Wl,-soname, -o ../lib/ CMakeFiles/qjson.dir/parser.cpp.o CMakeFiles/qjson.dir/qobjecthelper.cpp.o CMakeFiles/qjson.dir/json_scanner.cpp.o CMakeFiles/qjson.dir/ CMakeFiles/qjson.dir/parserrunnable.cpp.o CMakeFiles/qjson.dir/serializer.cpp.o CMakeFiles/qjson.dir/serializerrunnable.cpp.o CMakeFiles/qjson.dir/moc_parserrunnable.cxx.o CMakeFiles/qjson.dir/moc_serializerrunnable.cxx.o /usr/lib32/qt4/ -Wl,-rpath,/usr/lib32/qt4:

Comment 4 Michael Palimaka (kensington) gentoo-dev 2015-03-01 15:23:16 UTC
It's building ABI x86_32 without -m32, I'm not sure why.
Comment 5 Nikos Chantziaras 2015-03-01 15:38:00 UTC
I just noticed that this isn't included in the emerge --info output. I have this in my make.conf:

  CFLAGS_x86="${CFLAGS_x86} -march=native"

For some reason this removes the -m32 flag even though "${CFLAGS_x86}" is still included in there.

This and libdbusmenu-qt seem to be the only ebuilds that have that problem. Every other multilib ebuild on the system compiles fine and the -m32 flag is present :-/
Comment 6 Michał Górny archtester Gentoo Infrastructure gentoo-dev Security 2015-03-01 16:29:46 UTC
You are not supposed to touch CFLAGS_x86, ever. That's some magic stuff that's used in profiles & multilib.eclass.
Comment 7 Nikos Chantziaras 2015-03-02 10:31:18 UTC
Oh, damn. Today I learned: don't touch CFLAGS_* :-O

Sorry for the noise.
