VirtualBox 4.3.18 (and most likely other versions too) show many warning messages on stdout after starting $ VirtualBox Qt WARNING: libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile Qt WARNING: libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile Qt WARNING: libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile . . . This bug has been reported upstream but was not fixed for long time. It might be possible to fix it in the ebuild by running convert after installation. https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/12610 Reproducible: Always
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=198574 This patch from there does the convert thing in freebsd. https://bz-attachments.freebsd.org/attachment.cgi?id=154291
I'm still seeing this in VirtualBox 4.3.28. The problem is that it's not clear which images need to have the profile stripped. I've stripped some hicolor virtualbox.png icons, but am still getting multiple copies of the warning.
>libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile I see these messages in logs while not using using virtualbox or other qt software.
Does this still affect current 5.x versions?
I no longer see these errors with virtualbox-bin-5.1.24117012. Two out of three of my VMs wont boot - but that's a different story. The third seems to run fine.
I'm gonna mark this obsolete, by all means report a new bug if you have some other serious problems with the newest versions =)
