Description w0rm 2014-12-13 20:30:09 UTC
August 2014 release notes

This release moves Axiom to the latest GCL version.
All unused prior versions were removed.

Most of the work involved in this release has involved CATS,
working with Albert Rich to develop Axiom tests.

Noweb was removed. Axiom now uses its own literate tools.

I have tried to bump axiom earlier, I am blocked on how I can not build
dev-lisp/gcl-2.6.12 on a Gentoo Hardened system with a pax kernel.
Comment 2 Anton Kochkov 2018-05-09 05:04:10 UTC
There is an updated version - from May 2017 http://axiom-developer.org/axiom-website/downloads/axiom-may2017-src.tgz

This ebuild it seems can be used as a draft for more updated version of axiom: https://cgit.freedesktop.org/~cloos/overlay/tree/sci-mathematics/axiom/axiom-201205.ebuild

The site seems dead but the GitHub repository is alive https://github.com/daly/axiom

Another way would be to ditch the Axiom package and package FreeCAS instead, which is a maintained fork of the former.
