Tested on x86:
 - with Python2.7 and Python3.4,
 - with assumption that dependency [1] can be considered stable,
 - with these combinations (emerge --info in [2]):
   -- (DEFAULT) =dev-python/pytables-3.1.1-r1 -doc -examples python_targets_python2_7 python_targets_python3_3 python_targets_python3_4
   -- (CUSTOM)  =dev-python/pytables-3.1.1-r1 doc examples python_targets_python2_7 python_targets_python3_3 python_targets_python3_4

Observations (from both combinations of USE flags):
 - tests pass successfully
 - demo mini-example works successfully [3]
 - modified examples that come with the source code run successfully [4]
