Dear infra team, dear freenode groupcontacts, this is a request from the ComRel lead. Jorge and Robin can confirm that I've ended up with this fun job. Effective immediately, Denis Dupeyron (calchan) is not a member of ComRel anymore. I would like to ask you to remove from his account all extra bits, permissions and privileges that came with the ComRel / devrel membership. I.e. channel ops and access, comrel mail alias, bugzilla group, gentooAccess, whatever else I don't remember or don't know. Normal developer status remains of course untouched. Thank you very much for your help. Andreas
Ping- it's been some days, any news here? (In reply to Andreas K. Hüttel from comment #0) > Dear infra team, dear freenode groupcontacts, > > this is a request from the ComRel lead. dilfridge: Since I didn't see any traffic about this in the comrel alias, can you add some details about why this request is being made? As far as I can tell, Calchan is still a member of ComRel. Additionally, is Calchan remaining as a recruiter (that's a subset of comrel, with it's own extra permission bits)?

As far as I can tell, > Calchan is still a member of ComRel. Here's the mail which I sent to him personally last sunday. === Dear Denis, given your behaviour since the day I joined comrel, I see no base for any kind of fruitful cooperation. Your contributions during this time have effectively been negative, scaring other contributors off and leading to an overall inability of the team to function. As for long-time experience, you have shown no inclination to impart your wisdom on others. For this reason I am asking you to leave comrel. "Ask" is in this case merely a polite wording; more precisely I am exercising my prerogative as team lead and am kicking you out. This is for me not negotiable; the corresponding request to infra is already filed. Kind regards, Andreas === > Additionally, is Calchan remaining as a recruiter (that's a subset of > comrel, with it's own extra permission bits)? If you check the wiki page, Denis hasn't been a member of recruiters for a while.
Ping. Noone has started any sort of discussion or appeal to the team for a month.
(In reply to Andreas K. Hüttel from comment #4) > Ping. Noone has started any sort of discussion or appeal to the team for a > month. I've been thinking about this since this happened. I've contacted Denis, but haven't made any public comments / appeals as I've been thinking about your action, how much I disagree with it and it upsets me and if there is still anything left for me in the ComRel space. Given how much I've invested in this area of Gentoo and due to a busy life with work and RL, a month as passed by now. I'll be sending an e-mail to ComRel about this tonight / this weekend, but to address your request as a Freenode Group Contact, as I've said elsewhere before, I won't be removing Calchan from Group Contacts. I'll let Betelgeuse comment as the 3rd member, if he wants to. I'll let Robbat2 reply with the official infra reply.
<hat type=infra> calchan has been removed from the comrel alias for a while </hat>
(In reply to Robin Johnson from comment #6) > <hat type=infra> > calchan has been removed from the comrel alias for a while > </hat> Ack.
