All icons in the toolbars are displayed with wrong (inverted?) colors: * Those icons which have been solid black (e.g. "bold" or "center" or "item list" or "show control chars") are now solid white, which makes them invisible or almost invisible on light toolbar backgrounds (e.g. high contrast themes). * Those icons which should represent a piece of paper (e.g. "new" or "print" or "mail" or "convert to pdf") show the paper in black instead of white. * Other colors (e.g. the folder symbols) also look strange. This is libreoffice built with gtk2 gui. Other applications are fine. Libreoffice 4.2.x.x has been fine.

Solved. For reasons not known to me, the upgrade from 4.2.x to 4.3.x switched the icon theme from "Galaxy" to "Hicontrast", and "Hicontrast" is indeed inverted (black Background, white foreground). Looks as before after setting the correct icon theme in LO's options.
