Description Alan Schmitt 2004-05-28 07:40:51 UTC
When trying to access any help from eclipse-3 (build using the eclipse-sdk-3.0.0_pre8-r3 ebuild), a window appear saying: "An exception occured while launching help. Refer to the log for more details".

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. eclipse-3
2. choose "Help" "Help contents"
3.

Actual Results:
An error window appears.

Expected Results:
The help should have appeared.

I compiled eclipse using blackdown-jdk 1.4.1.

I could not find where the log mentioned in the error message is.

I know. This is a regression from M8. I probably won't bother fixing it,
since it seems hard to track, and the problem appears to be upstream.

If you get the time to look into it further, and can give me a hint, please
reopen with more info, and I'll certainly have a second peek.

Note that this was with M8, not M9 (I checked the pre8-r3 ebuild, and it does download M8).

I found the problem: if you go to:
Window, Preferences, Help
you'll see that the default value is "Cusom Browser (user defined program) set to "mozilla %1". So if there is no mozilla, help cannot launch.
