A few of the search plug-ins available for download at mozdev I just rolled out an ebuild to run through a file and grab whatever's named. It's NOT comprehensive, but it's a nice start, and should be satisfactory for the average user. What we need here is a Gentoo Bugzilla plug-in on mozdev that I can add to the list :)

Created attachment 32104 [details] files/plugins-20040526 the plug-ins list that gets parsed
please call it 'firefox-searches' and not add the -en part other then that, i hope this works, im emerging it now
Works nice, in terms of how comprehensive it is, i think its fine, any more would just be way too much. Now to get search plugins for gentoo bugzilla and forums :P
i couldn't find gentoo bugzilla, but the forums should be in that. Just rename the ebuild yourself though, no use in me uploading a new copy just to change some metadata.
i submitted a custom gentoo bugzilla to mozdev many many weeks ago but never heard back :(
Sorry to bump this old one but... What I think lacks is a fast-search for packages.gentoo.org. Or does anything like that exists? ...maybe a good place on the homepage for this sort of things and other "enhancements" for programs that apperntly is not in portage would be nice. Have just installed the bugzilla-search, but would not know about it if it was not for the GWN...

At the very least, the ebuild must not use wget in src_install as this causes problems for networkless installs. It would be great to see each search plug-in with it's own use flag, as I doubt many would want all of the plugins at once.
Stale bug and the patch needs to be rewritten entirely to be accepted. WONTFIX'ing for now. Do feel free to reopen with an updated patch however.
