Current inconsolata fonts don't have bold. Fontconfig can be forced to render it as bold, but then the 'monospace quality' of it breaks, which is unacceptable. Google has addressed this issue by adding adding a bolded version of it, and renaming 'Medium' to 'Regular' like other fonts. I suggest we use the google's version of inconsolata since it only a very minor yet incredibly useful change from the original version which has not been updated in years. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge inconsolata 2. Try to use bold and normal version of it in a text editor 3. Actual Results: Bold version has different char-width than the medium version. Expected Results: Both should take same char-width. Also see @http://www.google.com/fonts/specimen/Inconsolata
That appears to be the exact same font, by the same author, just hosted elsewhere.
