If package use use flag "pvr" then it compiles only _BASIC_ part of PVR system.
Itself this part is not functional (when try to enable PVR in xbmc, it hangs).
For full functionality it _REQUIRES_ package media-plugins/xbmc-addon-pvr from  vdr-devel overlay.

IMHO there is two solutions:
1) move package media-plugins/xbmc-addon-pvr to gentoo overlay and make xbmc with "pvr" use flag depend on it
2) print some information about situation if "pvr" flag is enabled

I was wrong. Basic part of PVR system is built unconditionally. But anyway pvr flag is misleading.

i see no bug open for merging xbmc-addon-pvr into the tree.  maybe someone wants to post that ?
