Description drunkenbatman 2014-06-17 06:22:01 UTC
After a reboot, was stuck at the GDM greeter with a gray background and working cursor. Trying to restart GDM via systemd resulted in a freeze. This was after installing ~100 updates that included xf86-video-intel and gstreamer and gnome 3.12 stuffins, and noticing "cheese" wasn't working yet Skype webcam was.

Downgrading to xf86-video-intel-2.99.10 booted to a working GDM & successful login.

Attaching emerge --info. Note that while I use lto on the system, it has been disabled for the intel driver via package.env.

Reproducible: Always

2.99.12 was released a short bit ago, so installed/rebooted/etc. No change, stuck at grey screen with only the X cursor. Downgrading back to 2.99.10 logs in fine.

Additionaly, this is xorg-server-1.15.99.903 and gentoo-sources-3.14.6
