i'd like to be able to run fixpackages with a certain "updates" file only. eg. /usr/portage/profiles/updates/2Q-2004 how hard would it be to update fixpackages to take an argument for an "updates" file? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Quite hard as the functionality is embedded in the portage core, would require to pass any arguments down there, would either be a hack or a medium reorganization of the code.
Putting a hold on feature requests for portage as they are drowning out the bugs. Most of these features should be available in the next major version of portage. But for the time being, they are just drowning out the major bugs and delaying the next version's progress. Any bugs that contain patches and any bugs for etc-update or dispatch-conf can be reopened. Sorry, I'm just not good enough with bugzilla. ;)
Reopening for consideration.
The fixpackages code has been optimized to take much less time so I think this request is now obsolete.
