According to upstream webpage xapian-1.2.17 is newest stable release. I cant find any relevant Gentoo bugs. Xapian is a dependency of baloo (new KDE desktop search engine), and it would be great to make sure we don't hit outdated bugs here. Can we stabilize dev-libs/xapian-1.2.17 ? Target: alpha amd64 arm ia64 ppc ppc64 sparc x86
Sounds good to me.

-bindings will have a pretty long depchain. I know that IUSE=mono is semi-broken but no-one seems to complain about it. -bindings also needs a bit of python love, which I was planning on holding off with until 1.3.x was turning 1.4.x. perl, python, c, c++, ruby, java seems to work fine. As for omega and search-xapian, I'm sure. Haven't given them a proper run for a while. Should be fine.

The python stuff isn't broken but needs to be brought up to date with the new python eclasses. @arch teams, please stabilize: =dev-libs/xapian-1.2.17 =dev-perl/Search-Xapian-1.2.17.0 =app-text/xapian-omega-1.2.17 TARGET=alpha amd64 arm ia64 ppc ppc64 sparc x86"
