Hiya,

Unfortunately, I can't test this ebuild as I don't have a usenet server to point it at.  Can you suggest a public usenet server to test this against?

i'm using news.ish.de for testing purposes. open reading and posting.
alt.* groups have been blocked.

This looks ok from the webapps point of view. I would only suggest dropping the empty src_compile (per Mr_Bones_), and think about marking .htaccess as webapp_configfile. From the manpage:
---  "webapp-config will install configuration files so that they can be edited by non-root users."

Do we want to give non-root users the ability to modify .htaccess and doing something like "Deny from all" or messing with php settings?

Also, 2.5.9 is out
