Description Sean Newman 2004-05-05 15:47:06 UTC
Hylafax depends on the metamail package for the mimencode utility, but doesn't check to see if metamail is installed.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge hylafax without metamail installed
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Hylafax merges correctly, but will not send a copy of the fax to the recipient
as a mail attachment. The attachment comes through, but because it has not been
mimencoded, it will not display correctly.

Expected Results:
Checked to see that metamail was installed so the mimencode utility would be
present and the attachment would be encoded correctly.

You're right, it should have an rdepend on metamail for full email integration.
as soon as I get metamail patched and approved for all the hylafax arches, I'll
commit a new hylafax ebuild.

Okay, try the -r3 hylafax (in portage shortly) with the new -r1 metamail (you'll
need ~x86 for the latter). Let me know how it goes...
Comment 3 Sean Newman 2004-05-08 12:08:16 UTC
yes, merging -r3 Hylafax correctly merged metamail in with it too.

Thanks.
