Target keywords: alpha, amd64, arm, ppc, ppc64, x86 This is needed for the stabilization of the reverse dependency media-video/vlc, see bug #499806; if however you don't want to stabilize at this time, let us know and we will (or you can if you want to) put the relevant USE flag on the media-video/vlc in the package.use.stable.mask of those architectures. @Maintainer: Can you please CC the relevant arches if you agree, or let me know why you don't agree; if your package has more architectures you want to stabilize for, feel free to restate the target keywords and CC those as well. Thank you very much in advance.
These packages were added to package.use.stable.mask such that security bug #486902, security bug #499806 and security bug #504088 can proceed to stabilize.
what about but bug 487418? quick look reveals it s a blocker.
According to 487418#c9 this problem has not been observed on opus 1.1. Can we stabilize than one instead? Any update on this one? Maintainer did not respond to comment 1, so no archtecture was added to CC...
Arches, please mark stable media-libs/opus-1.1. Minor arches can opt not to stabilize this and drop 1.0.2-r2 to ~arch. amd64, x86, and ppc, also should remove the package.use.stable.mask for media-video/vlc[opus] in your arch profile
Stable for HPPA.
x86 stable
ppc stable
Stable for PPC64.
Are there any outstanding bugs holding up the stabilization of amd64 or arm? I am happy to help test there. My primary interest is getting this stable so I can drop the use mask for VLC.
amd64 stable
ia64 stable
sparc stable
arm stable
alpha stable. Closing.
(In reply to Ben de Groot from comment #4) > amd64, x86, and ppc, also should remove the package.use.stable.mask > for media-video/vlc[opus] in your arch profile Seems like amd64 and x86 forgot about this.
amd64 still have to update package.use.stable.mask. This is getting quite old, please do something. Can someone contact the guy who is in charge of it and see where and why he disappeared?
up.
Created attachment 428990 [details, diff] patch unmask opus for stable amd64 Bump. Adding a patch fwiw
I hit this bug recently with a video from youtube and it took me awhile to figure out why I can't simply enable it. Please remove that mask asap.
A ridiculous waste of time tracking down why vlc doesn't have (and can't be built with) opus support. Please update /usr/portage/profiles/arch/amd64/package.use.stable.mask to remove the opus USE flag mask for vlc.
wow.. same for me - 30mins of troubleshooting to get to this bug. This is not fixed until we can actually build vlc with opus support. Its a super easy fix too! Thanks.
Re the package.use.stable.mask issue, please see bug 572190
After several hours over the last few weeks raising attention to this issue in IRC, this is now resolved on stable amd64. VLC as of today can be successfully built with opus support.
